Well there were many technological problems this trip. A phone that didn't always work, poor internet connections, and a Samsung tablet whose cord got mangled so that I was unable to charge it.
My original plan was to walk to Cabrerets and then on to the Pech Merle cave. Since I couldn't seem to make a reservation--all available reasonable options were either all booked up or closed for the season, I changed my plans, and continued on my way through the lovely old town of Sauliac sur Célé, with its own 16th century castle and houses built into the cliffs. My change in plans involved walking an extra 2 km off-piste to Orniac, where I stayed at an "organic" gîte, practically by myself. I was the sole "pilgrim" in the dorm. After the previous day's walking up and down hilly trails strewn with not-so-very crushed limestone gravel (in 2 to 4" chunks), with more than enough rock-scrambling, I was more than happy to walk the extra distance. I needed a break, and this suited me just fine.

(Psalm 61) 1 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. 2
From the end of the earth I call to you, when my heart is
faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I; 3 for you
are my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. 4 Let me
abide in your tent forever, find refuge under the shelter of
your wings. 5 For you, O God, have heard my vows; you
have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
