Paris problems

I had no problem with the AF to Paris except a slight delay.  I managed to leave the keys behind but telephoned the gardienne, Maria, from the airport and she had a set that she keeps for me available.

I also had no problem repairing a cabinet door hinge that was broken, but I spent yesterday replacing the telephone/internet/tv "box" and, after much time on the phone, managed to have it exchanged for a new one, sent to a different "espace SFR" where I could pick it up.  I was able to use the phone at my local "espace SFR" since mine wasn't working to take care of the transaction.  I have since I installed the new "box" this morning and finally have it working.  Having no phone, Internet, wifi and TV is pretty frustrating in France--especially no Internet/wifi.   It's hard to accomplish anything here without it.  The last tenant apparently spilled wine on it and it died...

I also went to IKEA today and had a new clic-clac (futon) delivered I would have a bed for my guests coming on the 9th.  Apparently another tenant wrecked it--heaven knows how...  I have now dismantled the old one--two legs were completely broken off the metal frame in the front and would need to be soldered on so I had to replace the whole thing--and have taken the frame down to the trash room for the time being.  My helpful French friend Jean-Jacques drove me to IKEA and the box was delivered around 6:15 pm.  Since I finally have an Internet connection, I was able to schedule a bulk trash pick-up for tomorrow morning for what remains of its predecessor. . .

Well it looks like I'm not going to have time to get the Topo-Guide FFRandonee book I wanted since I spent the evening putting it together, but I was able to order a copy of the St. Jacques. . .La Mecque video I mentioned in an earlier post so I can view that when I return from Conques.  I can easily pick up the Miam Miam Dodo title in Le Puy-en-Velay.

My train leaves at 6:55 am tomorrow, a long 6 1/2 hour ride, with one change in Saint Etienne, since there is no TGV there, so I need to retire early tonight.
